Our Spring Ad

We enjoyed the original install, some years ago, for these great customers in Lakewood and have returned a couple of times to provide additional service. I’ve always loved their spring flowering Akebono Japanese cherry.

Welcome Janell Frazier-Day

Even though Janell has been here since last fall, we have not formally introduced her via our Newsletter! Janell came to Olympic with a number of great skills and invaluable experience:

15 years in the industry, she possesses wonderful plant knowledge, is a great designer and project manager and she loves doing what she does. It’s great to have her on board. I asked Janell to name a favorite spring plant.

Here’s what she had to say:

"I’m a native Western Washingtonian and for me, early spring means Indian Plum (Oemelaria cerasiformis). It begins to bloom around Easter time every year. The flowers are pendulous and hang down like tiny clusters of white grapes. Two tender, soft green leaves begin to push up right above the flower. All together it looks like a little bunny, just in time for Easter!

I’m also very fond of purple Barberry in the early spring. It’s one of the first deciduous plants to put on leaves. I love the way the new leaves sparkle and shine in the watery sunlight, like little garnet jewels among the twigs."

The Short Version!

We created an exciting Outdoor Living Area for the Tacoma Home & Garden Show in January.

The rustic charm display was another wonderful experience. Everyone was involved: designers, office staff, supervisors and crew members.
