Landscape Designer
Janell joined Olympic’s design team with over 25 years of experience in the landscape industry, including in nursery sales, design, construction, and project management.
She has earned degrees in art, horticulture, and landscape design and construction.
Janell’s duties with Olympic include assisting customers from initial contact through to a finished design, and function as a project manager through the installation phase into the finished landscape.
Janell feels fortunate to work in such a positive, forward thinking industry with wonderfully creative and professional co-workers. And, she says it is a pleasure to help customers discover the garden of their dreams and guide that dream into fruition.
General Manager
Jesse heads our Straight to Construction Department and has run a successful landscape business since 1980. He carries expertise in many areas of construction including grading, retaining walls and planting. His love of transforming landscapes and his connection to the customer keeps him happy to get up every morning and come to work.
Sales/Estimator
Tyler’s duties at Olympic include communications with staff and customers, scheduling meetings, site visits, ordering plants for landscape projects, measuring project sites, and managing recordkeeping for Design staff activities. He has worked as a grounds crew employee, sales associate and customer service representative in various industries after graduation from Pacific Lutheran University with a Business Degree.
Tyler enjoys the dynamic nature of his position at Olympic, learning new skills, and taking on the various challenges of his job. “Olympic is an excellent opportunity to push myself and grow”, he says.
Landscape Designer
Brian is a former Landscape Design/Build business owner, so he comes to us with years of expertise and experience. His areas of expertise include hardscapes and creating natural landscapes. Brian’s duties at Olympic include, creating 3-dimensional landscape designs for clients and seeing those relationships through Olympic’s design/build process as the client’s landscape dream becomes a reality. Brian loves to “create outdoor spaces our clients will enjoy for years to come!”
Admin Assistant
Melissa’s duties at Olympic include supporting staff in achieving their daily goals, communicating with customers, and various other admin responsibilities. When calling into Olympic, Melissa’s voice will be the first one you will hear! She comes to Olympic with over 23 years of customer service experience. When asked what she likes about working here, Melissa says she enjoys the “laidback environment and family ran business” that Olympic has to offer.
Landscape Designer
Katie, a lifelong Puget Sound resident, has nearly twenty years of experience in the horticulture industry. She has a particular interest in ecological gardening and creating dynamic landscapes that are both environmentally sound and aesthetically pleasing. She comes to us with a BA in Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College, has completed the Landscape Design series from South Seattle Community College and is Certified in Integrated Plant Health Management through Washington State University.
You might have seen Katie in the past at a garden club as a Speaker or where she used to be Garden Manager at Lakewold Gardens, a historical estate garden in Lakewood, Washington. When asked what she likes about Olympic, Katie said: “I appreciate how at Olympic we all work together to help achieve the clients’ goals. Every landscape is as individual and unique as our customers!”
Landscape Designer
Mary has 26 years of experience working in the landscape field including the accumulation of extensive plant knowledge. She has been a Landscape Designer and owner of a gardening maintenance and design business for the last 7 years. Her responsibilities at Olympic include landscape design, architectural and 3D drawing. Mary works with Olympic design build customers managing their projects from the beginning, through the design phase and completion of construction.
She enjoys the fun and high level of enthusiasm of her coworkers along with the diversity of projects that Olympic caters to.
Landscape Designer
Mark comes to Olympic with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Washington State University. He also has certifications in irrigation design and installation. His areas of expertise include irrigation design, sustainable landscapes and architectural drafting. Mark’s responsibilities at Olympic include, managing customer relationships through Olympic’s design build process and creating landscape and irrigation drawings.
Mark enjoys meeting with clients and helping them find creative solutions that best fit their expectations for their garden. He also loves being part of an experienced design and construction team creating one-of-a-kind landscapes for Olympic customers.
Administrative Assistant
Amanda’s duties at Olympic include receiving phone calls, scheduling and dispatching service technicians for their daily customer routes, and helping process sprinkler service repair and maintenance work orders. She has over 20 years of customer service experience in the grocery industry and handling multiphone call center activity. Amanda really enjoys speaking with customers every day, helping them with the assistance they need, and getting to learn about the work of landscape technicians and how great relationships are created with Olympic customers.
Landscape Designer
Autumn’s duties at Olympic include landscape design, CAD drafting, customer relations and project management. She loves working with native plants, particularly with wetland plantings, edible landscapes, and outdoor living spaces. Autumn’s landscaping credentials include Bachelor of LandscapeArchitect and a Minor in Ecological Restoration. She has experience in commercial landscape design, urban forest restoration, and as a volunteer naturalist with the Seattle Aquarium. Autumn says she loves working at Olympic for the people, the quality of work, and for an opportunity to be involved throughout the design process.
Design Admin
Sarah comes to Olympic with several years of experience in the landscape industry as a Landscape Maintenance and Service Manager. Her areas of expertise include dispatching and organization.
Sarah’s duties at Olympic includes helping with all design project schedules and ordering for construction needs. She also facilitates meetings with new customers and assists the design team with customer service.
Sarah says she truly loves working with our customers and helping the design process work well from beginning to end. She enjoys the experience of turning concepts into final plans and seeing the construction through to the end. She loves to help create customers’ dream landscapes, and hearing how happy they are is very rewarding.
Marketing Coordinator & Business Advisor
Dan has been assisting the owner and staff at Olympic since 1998 as a business systems coach and marketing coordinator. His assignments have included interacting with management and staff in the development of business systems, and assisting with strategic planning and coordination of marketing activities.
Dan has worked with business owners in a wide variety of industries for over 20 years, helping them with the development of systems which help them grow their business, service their customers well, maximize profitability, and create a great working environment for their employees.
Landscape Maintenance Assistant
Jennifer has been in the customer service field for over 25 years. She takes pride in her ability to create great relationships with customers in a matter of a few minutes on the phone.
At Olympic, Jennifer’s duties are to assist the Landscape Maintenance Department with phone reception, appointments, estimates, and other administrative details. Her ‘can do’ personality helps her tackle most any challenge in doing what she loves…office work and taking care of customers!
Jennifer also enjoys her opportunity at Olympic, to learn new things about plants and flowers and ways to help them grow and flourish. And she enjoys interaction with her co-workers and being part of the Olympic family.
Service Department Admin
Jessica is an integral part of getting things done in the very busy Olympic Service Department. Her duties include scheduling appointments for Backflow Assembly Tests, and organizing routes and scheduling Spring Start-Ups and Winter Shut-downs. She also helps with the dispatching of incoming calls to the various other Olympic departments.
She has worked in construction related businesses for many years and has 15 years of customer service experience overall. Jessica says, “At Olympic, I enjoy being challenged, helping customers, and working with great people who make up our amazing team. ‘Teamwork makes the dream work’!”
Landscape Designer
Joe brings his enthusiasm, creativity, technical skills and experience in the landscape industry to the seasoned Olympic Design Team. He has a degree in Landscape Architecture & Design with a Major in Horticulture. Some of his specific areas of expertise are in sustainable landscapes, native plants and fauna, edible landscaping and living walls and roofs.
Joe’s responsibilities include landscape design, architectural drawing, customer consultations and project management. He loves the daily connections made between clients and employees, and appreciates the sense of growth experienced every day at Olympic.
Construction / Design / Sales Admin
Sara comes to us from the drilling industry. She has over 17 years customer service experience and has quickly caught on to the operations of the construction design build world. Sara brings an eye for details and great wit to the position; making her a nice fit for the Olympic team. Mostly she enjoys the challenge of keeping the sales pipeline running efficiently and being a part of a large collaborative effort to produce custom landscapes for a great group of customers.
Landscape Designer
Ami brings a wealth of technical skill to the team with her expertise in CAD/Land Fx/BIM revit/and Adobe. Her educational background includes a Bachelor degree in Architecture. She coordinates all the digitizing for our design team, meets clients, and prepares detailed graphics on all our jobs. Ami enjoys combining the art and science of landscape architecture with her creativity to build plans that enhance the natural beauty of a space and provide environmental benefits. She is a wonderful addition to the design team and we look forward to gaining even more expertise from her as she works toward her Master’s.
Service Department Supervisor
Robin was hired in 2019 to oversee the installation of a new software scheduling system. She has made great headway in other her duties such as revamping the scheduling process, first person of contact on the phone, processing irrigation repair work orders, and various other crucial admin responsibilities. Robin’s 20 year customer service career includes awards for distinguished recognition of her hard work, and devotion and commitment to excellence. We are grateful for her helping demeanor with customers and eagerness to learn about Olympic and become part of our team.
Marketing & Sales Coordinator
Heidi brings her cheerful demeanor and positive attitude to Olympic. She evaluates marketing opportunities which may fit the scope of activities defined in the marketing plan. This includes researching opportunities, taking calls and reviewing all inquiries from outside vendors selling advertising, and preparing opportunity evaluation forms for those that pass initial screening. She assists the Marketing Manager in the development and production of all marketing collateral, including print, photography, website and electronic media, and is responsible for the tracking, reporting, and analysis of all advertising activities.
She says about her experience at Olympic: “It is a special opportunity to work with this team of true landscape professionals, providing high quality services to customers and the community.”
Synthetic Turf & Straight to Construction Estimator
Chuck comes to Olympic with 30 years of experience in the landscape and irrigation industry. He brings with him his expertise in installing and servicing sprinkler systems, landscape construction, and landscape maintenance. Chuck’s duties at Olympic include going out on initial site visits with potential customers, assessing a project, estimating the project and overseeing the install as foreman. He enjoys working outdoors, helping to bring a customer’s dream yard and improvement of their outdoor living space to reality.
Chuck loves working with the other high quality professionals at Olympic, and appreciates the teamwork that delivers quality services to customers and a great workplace culture.
Executive Assistant
Nicole is the assistant to our CEO. She help manage an active calendar of appointments, composing and preparing correspondence, and coordinating company fleet management. Nicole also, assists Heidi our Marketing Coordinator to maximize profits through developing sales and social media strategies that match customer requirements; by promoting products, services or ideas.
She is excited to begin her career in the landscape industry using her 3 years of customer service experience. Nicole loves fitting in with all the great professional staff at Olympic, and being part of a team effort that delivers prompt and excellent services to our customers.
Landscape Maintenance Operations Manager
Kyle comes to Olympic with over 15 years of experience managing landscaping services. He has extensive knowledge of irrigation systems, masonry skills and weed control in beds and turf. Kyle’s responsibilities are to oversee all landscape maintenance services for Olympic customers including mowing, pruning, shaping, weed control, irrigation repairs and transforming old plant beds. He manages and schedules crews and ensures quality work and great customer service.
Kyle enjoys his interaction with co-workers in a friendly work environment. And loves to be part of a great team, creating satisfaction for customers and for a job well done!
Construction Crew Leader
Jon has 20 plus years of experience in the construction and maintenance of landscapes in the Pacific Northwest. His expertise in equipment operation, plant knowledge, irrigation, grading, rock wall and pavers give him the ability to supervise and participate in the installation of high quality landscaping projects.
Jon’s duties at Olympic are the management and direction of landscape work crews insuring quality control and excellent customer service. He enjoys working with customers, vendor partners, office staff and his crew members to bring a project together and make customers happy with beautiful and well-built landscapes.
Construction Crew Supervisor & Project Manager
Darren’s job responsibilities at Olympic include the management and direction of construction work crews, and promoting exceptional customer relations through his professionalism and friendliness. He brings his commitment and enthusiasm to these duties with the attention to detail that Olympic is well known for. In addition to his AA degree in Landscape and Irrigation design, Darren brings to the Olympic team over 8 years of landscape experience. He has developed specific expertise in crew development for landscape and sprinkler installations. Darren has successfully completed many high quality residential and commercial landscape projects.
Darren says, “It is a pleasure working at Olympic. I enjoy being outdoors with my crews, helping to make each customer’s home more beautiful by installing superior custom landscape designs.”
Landscape Architect
Margie’s title is Landscape Architect. She has over 27 years of landscape industry experience, with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She has a diverse range of design and installation experience in residential, commercial neighborhood and municipal parks and wetland. Working for Olympic Landscape gives Margie much joy with the ability to take a client’s dreams and ideas and translate it into two dimensional design.
Landscape Designer
James has 10 years of experience in the Landscape industry. He has extensive knowledge of plants and has designed and implemented multi-faceted landscape projects. He has an Applied Arts Degree and Applied Science Degree with emphasis in Landscape Design/Build, and is a Washington Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH).
James enjoys the synergy and interaction with Olympic co-workers and customers, and all aspects of the creative process-seeing initial landscape concepts develop and become a reality! He believes “a well planned and successful landscape should be an extension and reflection of an individual’s desired indoor living environment.”
Lead Designer
John has been involved in the landscape industry since 1971. He started with Olympic Landscape & Irrigation in 1977, during which time he has been the lead designer for the company.
In addition to landscape design, John’s duties include landscape project sales and ongoing customer relations. John is known as a very talented and creative landscape design professional, with many years of experience in the industry. He is a Washington State Certified Nursery Professional, and past Master Gardener. John truly enjoys people and especially the interaction of working with his clients. He really likes the challenge of creating great landscape designs then seeing the projects come together successfully.
Receptionist and Service Department Assistant
Joanny is our Service Department Admin who comes to us from New York City. She has an extensive background in customer service with her background in the home and garden retail world. Joanny is in charge of scheduling the Service crews at Olympic and keeping our CRM database up-to-date. She will be the friendly voice at the end of the phone when you call for your Sprinkler start up etc. Joanny enjoys the comradery at Olympic and the friendships from her co-workers.
Administrative Assistant for Sales & Construction
Maureen joined Olympic in 2004 and her major duties include assisting both the Construction and Sales Department Managers with record keeping, project implementation, and customer communication. She also handles the purchasing of plants and lighting materials. Maureen is a graduate of the University of Washington and comes to Olympic with over 20 years of experience in Customer Service and Management.
Her variety of experience, positive outlook and customer values have made her a key part of the Olympic staff. Maureen has extraordinary organizational skills and says she enjoys assisting the Construction and Sales Managers to help customers achieve the landscaped home of their dreams by keeping track of the fine details of each project.
Service Department Administrative Assistant
Robyn brings her background in customer service and office administration experience to the Olympic staff. Her duties include receiving phone calls and other inquiries, providing basic information about Olympic services, and routing inquiries to an appropriate staff member. She provides customer service, processes work orders, helps with scheduling for service customers, and performs various other administrative duties.
Robyn says she enjoys speaking with and helping customers every day. She feels good about being welcomed with open arms to the Olympic team, and loves that everyone on the staff work closely together and seem to genuinely care about every customer.
Backflow Coordinator & Assistant Service Manager
Nathan joined Olympic in 2012. He started as a Service Technician and Backflow Tester with over 10 years of customer service experience. Nathan now works closely with the Service Manager as a Dispatcher. His many duties include scheduling, routing, pricing and submission of Backflow test reports to the water companies. He is a Washington State Certified Backflow Assembly Tester, and also has a Specialty Plumbers License.
Nathan enjoys using his skill set to meet the needs of our customers in the office, as well as in the field. He likes the challenge of creating efficient routes for the technicians in the field, and working with the finest distinguished industry professionals.
Design-Construction Administrator
Tanya comes to us locally from the lumber sales field. She assists the Design Construction department in answering calls, scheduling site visits, ordering products and organizing projects from start to finish. Tanya has over 20 years of customer service experience. She enjoys the helpful staff and crew members at Olympic. She looks forward to the challenge and satisfaction of working in the landscaping industry.
Construction Administrator
Our Straight to Construction Department is fortunate to have their own Construction Admin like Maria answer calls and schedule estimators who can quote and install on a faster timeline than starting with a landscape design. Maria has worked in Customer service for over 10 years and is also our Notary. Maria aspires to bring positivity and accuracy to every aspect of her job so that her team members can rely on her for many many tasks.
Accountant
Sandy’s responsibilities at Olympic include all company accounting functions. She joined Olympic in 2010 with 13 years of experience in accounting and customer service in the construction industry. Sandy has specific skills in accounts receivable, customer relations, and attention to detail. Her duties at Olympic include all of the bookkeeping, AP, AR, payroll and job costing. She enjoys the staff and atmosphere in the office and says about working at Olympic, “everybody is friendly and makes you feel a part of a family, working together for a common goal.”
Marketing & Sales Coordinator
Heidi brings her cheerful demeanor and positive attitude to the Olympic Design-Construction department. She assists designers with clerical and scheduling needs, takes calls to set up initial site visits, completes site measurements, and provides assistance to help the department run smoothly. Heidi has a UW degree with emphasis in environmental studies, Over 10 years of landscape industry experience, and is V.P. of the Pierce Co. chapter of the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals. She uses her experience and expertise to help ensure great service to new Olympic customers.

General/Operations Manager
In addition to providing overall support and assistance to the Olympic CEO, David oversees project managers and crew schedules, and manages office staff personnel. He comes to Olympic with an extensive, varied background in financial, operational and general business management – in agriculture, international food processing and real estate. He was named Businessman of the year in 2007 by the Nicaraguan Chamber of Fisheries.
Dave loves working with the great people and work environment at Olympic. And he enjoys being part of a process of providing a quality product and timely services to Olympic customers – orchestrating the many parts that go into making each project a success.
Chief Executive Officer
Joe comes to Olympic with many years of management and ownership in the landscaping industry. He is a certified landscape professional with experience and expertise in landscape construction, maintenance, service and project management. Joe is responsible for oversight of all business operations at Olympic, including strategic planning, financial management, and new business development. He also enjoys networking within the landscaping industry. Joe was attracted to Olympic by its long standing reputation within the industry and in its community. He enjoys interaction with all of Olympic’s employees and assisting them in their respective duties to deliver great work for customers. He loves the quality of work created by a great team of designers, installers, service professionals, expert technicians, and a great office staff.
